Liver, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Tumours
Cancer found in the liver may be primary (originating in the liver) or secondary/metastatic (spread from elsewhere). Some liver tumours are benign. Tumours may also arise in the biliary tree and pancreas.
Diagnosis and treatment involves a multi-disciplinary team of radiologists, hepatologists, hepatobiliary surgeons and oncologists. Admission to the liver intensive care is sometimes necessary prior to and/or following surgery.
